| See article on the Bashores from my family history notebook. Was elected in 1775 a delegate to the Revolutionary convention at Lancaster. Was killed in an Indian raid. All other people of the settlement escaped in boats, except John who attempted to get one of the horses and ride down the river bank. Owing to the delay he was short and killed by the Indians, who also burned the house of Mr. Swartz (John's father-in-law). | ||||||||||
