He died on March 23, 1901 in Loramie Township, Shelby Co., Ohio. William caught his arm in a corn shucker which he had invented. The accident occurred at his home on Tri-County Line Road. The nearest doctor was in Russia, Ohio. By the time the doctor arrived, he had lost enough blood that he could not recover and died.
